napoleon bonapetit

Was talking to my sister the other day about moving in to our new place and how our dog/mother's 3rd daughter, Muffin, has made friends with the neighbour's dog, Napoleon.

sabrina : i heard the neighbour's dog is called napoleon
stef : yah so cute!
sabrina : which is cute cos wasn't napoleon bonaparte quite a small man too?
stef : yeah but he isn't a shih tzu.
sabrina : -_-

Okay I don't know why that was significant, but I thought it was funny. I have a weird sense of humour, vat can aiseh?

MOVING ON, I read somewhere that the assumption that Napoleon Bonaparte was a short man is totally untrue. When he died, the autopsy recorded that he was 5 feet and 2 inches, which was in French feet not English feet. So if you convert it to the other, Napoleon Bonaparte was actually 5 feet 6 inches (which is actually taller than the average French man back in the day).

"I don't know why, but the little bastard scares me." - random french general; haha i thought that was quite funny hurhur.

"It is not enough that I succeed — everyone else must fail." - for such a teeny tiny tyrant, he sure has a big ego. I love it!

lovestruck; change your fate

Lovestruck;
a section in the Londonpaper. It's like THE classifieds for lost lovers.

Yes, I read that section. Not in hopes that I'd be mentioned lah, but I love the smell of desperation. I love the idea of love at first sight. But most of all, I admire how hopeful they are.

Here are some of my favourites:
Toby, we walked together under the snowmen on Carnaby St. You're definitely the one. Pink drink on me? SARAH

To the man who let me under his big umbrella on the way to Liverpool Street at 7.30pm on Tuesday. Thank you. It got me home dry and happy. RAINDROP GIRL
-Is it just me or does this one have one too many sexual connotations in it.

To the sweetheart Italian I met at Long Acre bar on Friday 21st. You drew a heart on my hand in purple. Get in touch. R

To Anna from Barclays I have loved you for 13 years since I first saw you. I still love you now x x x
-My ultimate favourite.

hit me baby one more time

What we wore:
  1. Baggy/cargo pants
Somehow, pants 2 sizes bigger with extra big pockets were appealing then
. Now everything feels like they're 2 sizes smaller and pockets don't even serve its purpose anymore.
  2. Flannel shirts
Which are back in fashion by the way!
  3. Backward caps
  4. G-shock watches
  5. Baby tees
  6. Doc Martens
Personally, I still think they are awesome but I scared to wear; look like Ronald McDonald.

What we watched (and can probably recite lines from):
  1. Clueless
    like, hello? totally classic!
  2. The Matrix
    red pill or blue pill?
  3. Forrest Gump
life's laik a box of choclits, ya never know watcha gonna get..
  4. Cruel Intentions
    two words, ryan. phillippe.
  5. Little Women
"We'll all grow up someday, we might as well know what we want." - Amy March, played by Kirsten Dunst
  6. Austin Powers : International Man of Mystery
Don't it make you horny, baby?

What we played with:
  1. Bumblebee yoyos
I don't know about you, but in my school, these stupid yoyos were everywhere.
  2. Gameboys
    Damn those things were heavy.
  3. DIGIMON/Tamagotchi
I had to teach my mom how to feed it and clean its shit when I went to school. Always die wan by the time I come home.
  4. Coloured hair mascara
Yes, I was a total bimbo when I was in primary school. Still am.
  5. Fun Pet
Did you have those coloured water bottles with the straps too? NOW THEY ARE SO UGLY!

What we listened to:

Our children are so gonna think we are such losers. I just know it. But who cares?

I FRIGGIN LOVE THE 90s!

in my sunday best with my sunday secrets

Yeah so, I'm not really one for words. Hence the picture-book-for-5-year-olds blog.

I haven't been this happy in a long time. You know, the kind of happy that supersedes every bad feeling in your bone. The even-though-everything's-a-mess-i-don't-give-a-rat's-ass kind of happy.

AND, I can cook now. Well, at least I hope so. From conical cupcakes to grillin' em chicken, I'd say I've done pretty well :)

TTFN!

All you have to do is cryyyyy.

I wish that you knew when I said two sugars,
actually I meant three.

An oldie.

Just cos it was at the ending of One Tree Hill's latest episode! Hehe.

And then there's you!
